'Tis the Season to Get Merry

As Kiwi Santa steps into his jandals (aka flip flops, thongs or sandals) to start his Christmas deliveries, we've packaged up the latest treats for you. This month, refresh your travel tastebuds with the lowdown on the Kauri Coast (a little secret near the Bay of Islands), read about NZ's greatest Natural wonder, get free entry to the Daily Telegraph Adventure Travel Show and for those that missed it last year - check out the funniest Xmas video you will ever see!!!

Hot Spot: The Enchanting Kauri Coast

One of the highlights of the Kauri Coast is this superb Forest Sanctuary abounding with rare New Zealand flora and fauna, mighty kauri, nocturnal kiwi, feather-like ferns, amongst a sub-tropical rainforest - this is the Department of Conservations 9105 hectare Waipoua Kauri Sanctuary.

The road through the forest passes by some splendid huge kauris. A fully grown kauri can reach 60 metres and have a trunk five metres or more in diameter. They are slow growing and some kauris are 2,000 years old.
